AthenaHQ

A dated analyst profile of AthenaHQ, a GEO platform for prompt tracking, citations, content agents, and credit-based visibility work.

Updated Oct 26, 2026 Reviewed Oct 26, 2026 en

AthenaHQ is a commercial GEO and AI visibility vendor. On 2026-09-07, its public site sold prompt tracking across named answer engines, retained responses and citations, competitor benchmarking, then content and action agents. Enterprise packaging adds Knowledge Base, Oracle, a citation engine, SSO, and multi-region support.

Geolyze files it with AI visibility tools because the documented measurement objects are prompts, generated answers, citations, competitors, and share of voice. It is not a classic SEO rank tracker.

This profile is an analyst file from official marketing, pricing, and docs captured on 2026-09-07 and re-captured on 2026-10-26 with both billing toggles read. It is not a hands-on product test. Live dashboard behavior stays unknown.

Best fit

Use AthenaHQ when the team wants self-serve prompt tracking with documented answer and citation retention, and can accept credit metering.

The free Essential tier is a better match for a five-engine trial. Enterprise packaging is a better match when procurement needs Knowledge Base, Oracle, SSO, and multi-region named in public materials.

It is a weaker fit when the team needs unmetered always-on tracking, Discover or Oracle on Starter, or reads “11+ LLMs” as the Essential card.

What official pages claim

Public pages and docs name these modules. Treat them as vendor-stated capabilities, not Geolyze lab results.

ModuleOfficial jobEvidence note
Prompts and ScheduleStored prompts run against selected engines on a cadence the team setsDocs describe CSV ingest and a default Mon/Wed/Fri schedule. Fan-out details remain unknown.
DiscoverMulti-source prompt discovery from site, GSC, social, and keyword gapsOfficial setup docs label this Enterprise-only.
ResponsesFull captured answer text, sources, sentiment, competitor fieldsStrongest measurement surface in the public docs. CSV export is gated on Free.
SourcesDomain and URL citation rollups from those answersDocs state citation share, co-mentions, and rescan at about 1 credit per 10 URLs.
OlympusShare of voice, mention rate, citation rate, position, modeled AI Search ValueValue cards use keyword/CPC economics, not finance-system revenue.
Athena AI / content agentRecommendations and content optimization actionsNamed on Essential and Starter cards. Quality untested.
Knowledge BaseVerified brand facts and pillarsDocs say plan-gated. Pricing places it on Enterprise.
OracleCompare AI claims with pillarsPricing places it on Enterprise. Accuracy quality remains unknown.
Athena Citation Engine (ACE)Named Enterprise featureMethod remains unknown.

Responses plus Sources map to a serious GEO checklist: a stored prompt, a dated answer, citations, and a way to compare competitors. If a demo only shows a score, ask for the underlying answer row.

Platform coverage

Coverage is plan-gated. Do not read homepage language about “11+ LLMs” as the Essential or Starter card.

From the official plan cards, unchanged pricing across the 2026-09-07 and 2026-10-26 captures:

Starter multi-language and multi-region were listed as single. Enterprise was listed as multiple. Official Sources docs name nine engines and omit Meta AI. Do not merge that FAQ into the Starter card.

Whether a given Starter workspace includes every named engine on day one is unknown.

Pricing note

Captured from AthenaHQ’s public plans page on 2026-10-26 with both billing toggles read in a live browser; the /pricing URL now redirects to /plans. Dollar pricing was unchanged from the 2026-09-07 capture.

PlanList priceWhat the cards showed
EssentialFree300 credits; labeled $25 free credit; five engines; unlimited members; CSV export documented as gated
Starter$295/month monthly; $245/month billed annually (17% off)3,600 credits; labeled $300/month free credit; eleven named engines; CSV export; API and extra credits as paid add-ons
EnterpriseCustomCustom credits; Knowledge Base; Oracle; ACE; SAML/OIDC SSO; audit log; multi-region / multi-language; persona targeting; recommendation engine; BI dashboards

Public pages state 1 credit = 1 AI response. Re-check live packaging before a purchase decision. Extra-credit package dollars, fan-out credit cost, and agent-job credit cost remain unknown.

Strengths

Official docs describe full answers and citation rollups. That matches Geolyze’s measurement checklist more closely than a slogan about visibility scores.

A free Essential tier exists. Starter now names eleven engines in public packaging, including several surfaces that other vendors keep behind enterprise contracts.

Unlimited seats are named on the public matrix. Discover, Oracle, and Knowledge Base are explicitly gated rather than implied on every plan.

Limitations

Tracking is credit-metered. Engine count, cadence, and fan-out will burn the 3,600 Starter credits at an untested rate.

Essential is five engines and gates CSV export. Discover, Oracle, Knowledge Base, ACE, SSO, and multi-region sit on Enterprise.

Homepage “11+ LLMs” overstated the September Starter card, which named ten; the October card names eleven with Mistral and so the slogan now matches Starter but still overstates the five-engine Essential card. AI Search Value is modeled from keyword economics, not closed-won revenue.

Credit burn, agent quality, and Oracle accuracy were not independently tested. Vendor case-study multipliers are not Geolyze facts.

Example and counterexample

A workable use is an SEO lead tracking a focused prompt set on Starter, reading Responses and Sources each week, and exporting CSV for reporting.

A mismatch is a founder starting on Essential because the homepage names Claude and Mistral, then expecting those engines and CSV export on the free plan. The public Essential card listed five engines and gated export.

Alternatives

The published Geolyze vendor profiles at the time of this page are AIvsRank, Profound, Peec AI, Scrunch, Goodie, and Otterly.AI. Use AIvsRank when the next job is measurement, benchmarking, or audit rather than AthenaHQ’s combined GEO stack; the others are compared with dated captures in Best AI Visibility Tools.

Other AI visibility vendors should not be compared feature-by-feature here until they have their own reviewed profiles.

Operator checklist

  1. Write the job: measurement only, measurement plus content agents, or accuracy / Oracle.
  2. List the answer engines, languages, and regions that matter commercially.
  3. Check whether those engines sit on Essential, Starter, upon request, or only Enterprise.
  4. Estimate credits: prompts × engines × runs. Confirm 1 credit = 1 AI response still holds, and ask about fan-out and agent jobs.
  5. Ask for a dated sample of prompt, full answer text, citations, and competitor mentions. A score without answer evidence is not enough.
  6. Re-check live pricing and add-on credit rates. This note is from 2026-10-26.

Common misunderstanding

AthenaHQ markets GEO and AEO as one platform. In Geolyze terms, Prompts, Responses, and Sources are AI visibility measurement and prompt tracking. Content agents, Oracle, and ACE are separate jobs. The free plan is not the ten-engine Starter card, and credits are not unlimited tracking.

Verification note

Official pages were captured on 2026-09-07 and re-captured on 2026-10-26 in a live browser with both billing toggles read. Dollar pricing was unchanged; the Starter engine card moved from ten named engines to eleven with Mistral, and the Enterprise feature list grew. The /pricing URL now redirects to /plans. Geolyze has not operated an AthenaHQ workspace. Recapture pricing, credits, and engine coverage before relying on this page for procurement.
