Profound

A dated analyst profile of Profound, an AEO and AI visibility platform now sold as an AI Marketer with Trial versus Enterprise packaging.

Updated Sep 20, 2026 Reviewed Sep 20, 2026 en

Profound is a commercial AEO and AI visibility vendor. On 2026-09-20, its public site sold an AI Marketer workspace on top of a combined workflow: research the prompts people ask AI, measure how answer engines mention and cite a brand, inspect AI crawler and referral traffic, then generate AEO-oriented content with agents.

Geolyze files it with AI visibility tools and GEO tools because the measurement objects are prompts, generated answers, citations, competitors, and share of voice. It is not a classic SEO rank tracker.

This profile is an analyst file from official marketing and pricing pages captured on 2026-09-20. It is not a hands-on product test. Live dashboard behavior stays unknown.

Best fit

Use Profound when the team wants answer-engine tracking and an AEO content workflow in one vendor, and can buy Enterprise for daily tracking.

Trial is a reasonable sample of ChatGPT answers. It is a weak fit as the operating system: 10 prompts, one-time run, no history, no export.

It is a weaker fit when the only job is lean measurement, or when the team still expects the 2026-09-07 self-serve Starter and Growth prices.

What official pages claim

Public pages name these modules. Treat them as vendor-stated capabilities, not Geolyze lab results.

ModuleOfficial jobEvidence note
AI MarketerResearch, write, report, and collaborate with brand contextLead homepage name on this recapture. Workspace quality unknown.
Prompt VolumesDiscover and validate prompts against Profound’s conversation datasetDataset size is vendor-stated.
Answer Engine InsightsMentions, sentiment, citations, competitors, visibility score, share of voiceMatches Geolyze measurement criteria if answer text is actually retained.
Prompt trackingStored prompts with answer, citation, and visibility fieldsMost concrete measurement module. Daily runs are a paid-tracking claim, not Trial.
Agent AnalyticsAI crawler activity and AI-referred trafficNamed on homepage and features.
AgentsAutomated AEO content workflows with human checkpointsAdjacent to measurement, not the same job.
ShoppingChatGPT Shopping product visibilityListed as No on Trial and Yes on Enterprise.
Context Manager, Command Center, Sheets, ProjectsBrand context, team spaces, scaled agent runs, enterprise usageNamed. Details beyond the name stay unknown.

Prompt tracking is the module that maps to a serious GEO checklist: a stored prompt, a dated answer, citations, and a way to compare competitors over time. If a demo only shows a score, ask for the underlying answer and source evidence.

Aim and The Profound Index were named on the 2026-09-07 homepage. They were not named on the 2026-09-20 homepage.

Platform coverage

Coverage is plan-gated. Do not read homepage language about major answer engines as the Trial matrix.

From the official pricing page on 2026-09-20:

The Answer Engine Insights FAQ on the same day named Grok and did not name Exa Search. Geolyze does not resolve that conflict. Whether a given Enterprise contract includes every named engine is unknown.

Features and Answer Engine Insights FAQs still mentioned Starter (50 prompts) and Growth (100 prompts). Those plan names were not columns on the 2026-09-20 pricing matrix. Treat that leftover copy as a documentation conflict, not current packaging.

ChatGPT Shopping was listed as Trial no, Enterprise yes.

Pricing note

Captured 2026-09-20 from Profound’s public pricing page. The comparison was Trial versus Enterprise. No dollar prices appeared.

PlanList priceWhat the matrix showed
TrialunknownChatGPT only; 10 unique prompts; one-time; no history, export, API, or SSO
EnterpriseCustomDaily tracking; named multi-engine capability; CSV/JSON export; API; SSO
Agency GrowthunknownFAQ-only: 400 Agent credits per month per client workspace; not a matrix column

The 2026-09-07 public figures of $99/month Starter and $399/month Growth are no longer on this pricing page. Do not use them as current list prices.

Trial users receive a recommended prompt set and cannot customize prompts, according to the FAQ. Enterprise can edit, disable, or add prompts.

Re-check live packaging before a purchase decision. Month-to-month billing, leftover Starter/Growth checkout SKUs, and Agency Growth engines/prompts remain unknown.

Strengths

The Trial versus Enterprise matrix is specific enough to compare cadence, prompt count, engines, exports, and SSO before a demo. That is more useful than a slogan about full coverage.

The named measurement fields still match a GEO operating loop: prompt sets, answers, citations, rank, share of voice, and sentiment. Prompt Volumes plus tracking can help a team that does not yet have a prompt set.

Enterprise pages name SSO and SOC 2 Type II, which many procurement reviews require.

Limitations

Trial is not recurring measurement. One-time ChatGPT, ten prompts, no history, no export.

Recurring multi-engine tracking is sold as Enterprise, or as an Agency Growth SKU that is not in the public matrix.

Measurement is bundled with an AI Marketer and content agents. A team that only needs evidence may be buying extra workflow.

Official pages disagree on engine lists and leftover Starter/Growth copy. Browser-capture claims, FactCheck quality, and crawler-attribution accuracy were not independently tested. Vendor case-study percentages and G2 ranking lines are not Geolyze facts.

Example and counterexample

A workable use is an SEO lead who treats Trial as a ChatGPT sample, then buys Enterprise to run a stable set of category and comparison prompts daily, reviewing citations and share of voice against two competitors.

A mismatch is quoting the old Starter $99 or Growth $399 prices, or buying Trial because the homepage mentions several AI products and expecting Perplexity, AI Overview, history, and exports.

Alternatives

The other published Geolyze vendor profile is AIvsRank. Use it when the next job is measurement, benchmarking, or audit rather than Profound’s combined AEO and AI Marketer stack.

Other AI visibility vendors should not be compared feature-by-feature here until they have their own reviewed profiles.

Operator checklist

  1. Write the job: measurement only, measurement plus content agents, or crawler and traffic analytics.
  2. List the answer engines, languages, and regions that matter commercially.
  3. Check whether those engines sit on Trial, Enterprise, or only in conflicting FAQ copy.
  4. Confirm Trial is one-time ChatGPT. Ask for daily cadence, exports, and history on the paid plan you would actually buy.
  5. Ask for a dated sample of prompt, full answer text, citations, and competitor mentions. A score without answer evidence is not enough.
  6. Ask whether Agency Growth exists in checkout and what engines it includes. The public matrix does not say.
  7. Re-check live pricing. This note is from 2026-09-20. Do not reuse the 2026-09-07 Starter/Growth dollar figures.

Common misunderstanding

Profound markets itself as an AEO platform and now leads with AI Marketer. In Geolyze terms, AEO is answer-ready content structure. Much of Answer Engine Insights is AI visibility measurement and prompt tracking. Agents and Shopping are separate jobs. Buying “AEO software” does not mean Trial includes multi-engine citation evidence.

Verification note

Official pages were recaptured on 2026-09-20. Geolyze has not operated a Profound workspace. Public dollar prices, Agency Growth packaging, leftover Starter/Growth SKUs, and the Grok versus Exa Search engine conflict remain unknown. Recapture pricing and engine lists before treating any row as current.
